Equal Playing Field (2019)
Dream Big. Live Bigger.
Join an all-star team of heroic women on a journey that tests the courage of their spirits and reminds us of the power of sport. Female soccer players, coaches, referees and medics from 30 countries across six continents summit Mount Kilimanjaro and descend to the Dead Sea to play the highest and lowest elevation soccer matches in history, through their efforts advocating for top to bottom change and confronting the world’s assumptions about what women can or should achieve. Equal Playing Field documents the remarkable journey of these women as they endure physical and emotional challenges of climbing to and playing these games, in order to set two new Guinness World Records and inspire women to tackle the impossible on and off the field.

EPF FILM Director’s statement
I’ve wanted to be a film director all my life. Since I was a little girl, I was swept up in the magic of cinema. It was my window to diverse cultures – a thread that connects humanity.
Representation is essential. While cinema nurtured me, it became clear I couldn’t have a future as a film director - I didn’t have a lot of female heroes to look up to, which instilled a strong sense of doubt that this dream was possible.
After a decade of working in other parts of the industry, tragedy enveloped my family – my beautiful mom Jayne was diagnosed with cancer. I moved home to spend the next year as her caregiver. Watching her suffer and eventually take her last breath changed me forever.
THE PLAYERS
Get Involved
Since the first challenge to play the highest altitude football match, Equal Playing Field has gone on to set 4 more Guinness World Records and support players, coaches, and non profit organisations in their fight for opportunity, equality, and respect for girls and women in and out of sport. If you would like to support this work, you can donate to the Equal Playing Field Micro Fund, where through our global network EPF provides direct funding support to recipients looking to level the playing field in their communities where a small donation can have huge impact.
